Heave ...
Rainy this morning but it dried up around lunchtime, and Maeve the Deerhound and I headed off for a walk after 1pm.
Down at Westhaven we sat on one of the seats by the little car park and watched two men struggle to row out to one of the creel boats in a very active surf. Launching the boat looked difficult enough, then it took a good deal of heaving, and a circuitous route to get out to the boat they were heading for. They had to go 50 yards or so to the right as you see them and then back across to the blue hulled boat.
Sometimes the bow of their rowing boat was pointing more towards the sky than the sea. Once they turned to the left it looked easier. Eventually they made it and scrambled on board. I am not sure if they were heading off out to see if their creels had a catch as Maeve and I headed off once they were safely on board.
