A Wedding In The Woods
I went down to my wife's family's place on Saturday to attend her brother's wedding ceremony, held in the woods on their property (about 7 acres of woodland). Not an official marriage (they went to the registry office a few days later) but a lovely open-air celebration with a few speeches and readings (I was asked to read a poem for them).
They were blessed in more ways than one. This was the day the weather turned into an Indian summer, which is still half-lingering five days later.
The white flag-like things on tall poles (in the blip) were brought, I heard, from The Electric Picnic, the recent big open-air concert, where one of the guys had done some work. It was all beautifully arranged, with a large marquee set in the nearby field.
