Boat trip

Kerr went on his very first boat trip today. We went away for the day to Loch Leven Castle, which is accessed by a fairly small Historic Scotland boat. He was so excited to be on the boat, and couldn't stop smiling all the way to the island.

We then had a great time exploring the castle and had our picnic lunch in the grounds. Unfortunately our picnic was interrupted by a downpour of rain, but it didn't last too long. We explored a bit more while we waited for the boat to come back for us. We had left Fudge in the car on the mainland (probably in the huff) because dogs are not allowed on the boat.

After walking Fudge, we headed to the RSPB reserve at Loch Leven (formerly known as Vane Farm). By this point we were too late to get cakes and coffee in the cafe as they had just stopped serving - typical! However we had a look around, and the highlight was spotting an Osprey, which all the staff and visitors were very excited about.

A great day out, which hopefully we will repeat again one day, when the sun is shining a bit more.
