Imperfect

Grit my teeth and mounted my macro lens today and went down to the cemetery to see what I could find. Of course one of the first things I saw was a jay sitting on a gravestone which I could have easy got a good shot of if I'd had the telephoto on.
Strange how you have to re-tune your eyes when you are looking for the small. It took a while but eventually I started to see the small. I'd hoped for a butterfly or two. I was pleased that I was able to get close enough to this peacock butterfly to get a macro shot. Of course when you get that close, you can see all the imperfections; this butterfly has a torn wing, but is still a marvel of nature.
