It was my wife's birthday in the week and we decided to try Latymer at the Pennyhill Park Hotel for a celebration meal. Since Prague at Christmas, we've been a bit keen on trying a taster menu again and Latymer's didn't disappoint. 10 courses, a fabulous sancere and all served with panache and knowledge.

My favourite course? Has to be the first of the three desserts: Garden pea cassonade, gariguette strawberries, mint ice cream. Seriously delicious. Whoever would think peas, strawberries and mint...but it worked!
