Decay Amidst Revival

A partly fallen tree on a main road in Amherst, less than a mile from the town green and Amherst College. It must belong to the house behind me, on the other side of the driveway in the foreground, and the owners don't seem to paying much attention to it.

The rest of the tree is out of the frame to the left, and it is leafing out like everything else behind it. Spring rejuvenation is everywhere, which makes the sight of this tree all the more vivid. I drive by here occasionally, and I'll follow what happens to it.
