Nelson

This is Emma's second horse that she's bred from her mare Nelly, who sadly had to be put to sleep last year. But she's left a legacy of 3 offspring behind her, Soliel ( who featured in The Horse And Hound magazine earlier this month ), Nelson and Beans ( yet to be broken in and still very cheeky! ).

This is Nelson getting some experience at a local show jumping event. He did ok, but stopped at one fence to have a good look at it before leaping over it from a stand still! Altho he didn't actually back away from it, it's still technically a refusal so he got 3 penalty faults. Emma ( Mary's Aunty Em ) took resposibility for it tho, she admitted not setting him up to it in the way that he needs while he's still so young and inexperienced, so he still got lots of pats and a Polo mint.

We trooped back to the farm for coffee. Jjust as we had to leave Mary arrived, but she was fast asleep. At least Sav got to see her before he left. He's just set off back down to Wilts now ... heart breaking watching " my " little car driving away ... I do love our DS3!

Now I have 3 days to spend with Mary!
