Bald Thigh Syndrome-A Not So Shaggy Dog Story
Archie used to have no fur on his thighs, poor soul. Some of you have met him before and know he was rescued by Dad from the 'Dogs' Trust'. He has titanium plates in his front legs and Dad is his second rescue home.
They thought he was bald on his thighs due to excessive licking, stress etc, which may be the case. However, Dad encountered a man who said to him 'I see your whippet has bald thigh syndrome'. Dad did a bit of research and Archie was started on Vitamin B complex doggie vits and twice daily has his thighs rubbed with almond oil and lemon juice.
The result, Archie now has fur on his thighs, it is amazing, I was gobsmacked. He has fuzzy baby furriness covering his previously baldy bits.
So whether it be vitamins, massage, extra attention, relaxation, or the hair coming back to prevent any more of that oily stuff being rubbed in, or just coincedence, we don't know.
Whatever......RESULT!
I wonder if it works for baldy blokes?
:)
Other news, we had a great time with our visitors and a wee trip out to Wicken Fen which is why Archie's photo of the day has him on his lead.
