Mount Usher Acers
The last time we visited Mount Usher Gardens was in 2005 on a day when we received a phone call informing us that Mrs.Joesblips father had passed away. It's not like we made a conscious decision or anything but somehow we never felt the urge to go back until today. A pity really because it really is one of the premier gardens in the area. The Japanese Acers, a variety of Maple, were in superb colour and this shot was made just after we entered the garden. Within a few minutes the rain came down, cold and heavy which made everything a bit miserable for a long spell. Once it had passed the sun came out and the glistening raindrops on every plant and tree and shrub were quite spectacular. This shot however, despite the sunnier ones later, is one of my favourites of the day.
