Return to the North

homesick

The community of Murchison stood proud today as it saw the opening of it's sports and recreation centre. Most of the funding for this fabulous sports hall has been raised by locals and they took full advantage of their first chance to look round it at an official opening ceremony today. By sheer fluke ( or providence) a couple of Celtic Pipe bands rang up to see if they could use our town fields to practice marching on, on their way to a competition. The chairman of the Sports and Rec centre said yep but could they play at our opening ceremony too. They were happy to oblige and as I post this I can still hear them playing.
On a slightly different track the piping of Scotland the Brave and other tunes made me very weepy and homesick, so to cheer myself up I took pictures of the men in their kilts, a real sight for sore eyes :-)
