A drainage pipe from the raised lawns on Southern Road merely removes the water to drip down the restraining wall and onto the foot-path. It has created its own micro-eco-system, a perenially damp spot on the ancient rock wall. This says much to me about my country: how a certain beauty perseveres in the land itself, despite the dominance of a half-arsed selfishness amongst many of its people.
