My life in glassware
Today I started some Spring cleaning, the glass cupboard was first call. How many glasses can one family need, surely not as many as we appear to have.
Anyway, the cupboard bizarrely offered up some memories.
The small glass at the front came from my Grandad who, when I visited would offer me a drink. The only problem being that it was always Stone's Ginger Wine, which I loathe so I'd have "Just a small one" and this was the glass he would use.
The Babycham glass came from the sideboard at home and I thought it incredibly grand when I was little!
Gotta lotta bottle was from my youth and reminds me of that other milk campaign- watch out there's a Humphrey about.
The cider glass is from my wayward student days, as is the Pernod glass which was "picked up" in Paris but reminds me of crossing the finishing line of the London to Brighton bike ride. We rode for the British Heart Foundation but the sponsors were Pernod and everyone got a shot of Pernod as they crossed the line. My legs turned to jelly!
