One Crowded Hour

trial riding-Julian.

On a splendid autumn day I took junior and our neighbour's daughter into the city. Our plans, to dash around the museum, explore the wetland planting near the art gallery (and hopefully not fall in. They didn't but another intrepid soul did.) and have lunch in the urban orchard followed by a paddle in the Swan River.

Highlight would probably have been the 3m roaring dinosaur and fluorescent minerals until Julian, the trial rider, turned up.

This is Julian, first spotted statue still on his bike without feet on the ground..how do they do that?
Next second he had LEAPT at least five feet into the air from a standing start onto this pedestal. So much for hey ho silver...the lone ranger has nothing on this.
Astounded, I dragged my two to watch agog as he did this again and again. A nearby mum dragged her equally agog five year old away muttering' he doesn't need to see this. He defies death every day on his bike as it is.'
