The Way it is

It is the 5th Anniversary of the death of my partner today - it can't be 5 years, but it is. I have been to a Woodlands Trust wood where we (the family) planted 60 trees. And today in the rain I planted some daffodils and some poppy seeds. And then I drive towards Northallerton to go the Betty's for tea. I sit and reminisce about our lives together and when we used to sit in Betty's.

And then I see a friend who has just had his middle toe amputated (skin cancer). Luckily he just heard that the biopsy was negative so HE IS OK. A relief so our meetting and conversation was upbeat and interesting. The subject was mainly our mortality and how that should affect the way we live our lives.
