Running the Race

Yes I feel like those runners looked in the London Marathon yesterday. I am keeping on keeping on. And this essay has just been printed out so I can submit it tomorrow. The books are packed ready to return them to the library. The book on top by Bailey is fantastic as it looks at the parables in Luke through the eyes of those who would understand the culture or the original listeners. I feel I have merely scratched the surface of the parable of "The Prodigal Son, the Waiting Father and the Elder Brother". A parable I thought I knew all about is filled with little snippets that I never got reading before until I delved into understanding the culture more.

The joy of being a theological student is to explore what you thought you knew, to find you didn't know!
