On our way to fly fishing on the Lower Sacramento River, we walked through some pretty desolate areas. This area had been an old farm house site and was now completely abandoned. There were many homeless camps on the way to the river - everyone was sociable, but it was surprising how many people were living in this abandoned area with pretty much only the clothes on their backs and a tarp or small tent. All ages, children included.

This area is just south of Redding California.
