Fountains Abbey

Fountains Abbey, Yorkshire. Founded in 1132, the abbey operated for over 400 years.Built over the river Skell, the land covered over 70 acres and was surrounded by an 11foot wall. Its now a designated world heritage site and is owned by the National Trust.
