Hot Spring Day

I thought I'd take a day's break from cactus and get a little scenic today :-)

We shattered a record yesterday, hitting then surpassing, 100 degrees on the second earliest date (by only a couple of days) in history.

Dumb butt me decided that it was a good day to walk the neighborhood to get my precinct committee person petition signed. I need just ten signatures to get on the ballot in the August primary election. I already hold that position but I need to get re-elected every two years.

I was out for less than two hours but I only got five signatures. There aren't many members of my party in my neighborhood but the ones who are, weren't home. I was really whipped when I got home. I had the good sense to go out wearing a hat but I didn't bring any water with me.

The cold shower I took when I got home felt good but as is often the case around here in this kind of heat, I felt hot again as soon as I dried myself off.

It's a balmy 100F today. Another record. But there's relief in sight. Eventually back into the eighties where we belong. Hooray!
