Law of the jungle - or just stupid birds?

This nest is visible from the elevated footpath in the garden, if I can see it I'd imagine any self respecting egg-eater will find it too. The eggs have been like this for two days now, same position. The magpies have been goose-stepping around the garden and I suspect the collared doves have been scared away.
