My life, my lens

We have walked all over Vancouver today. We started the day by walking to Chinatown to visit the park next to Dr Sun-Yat Sen Chinese Garden. It's planted in the traditional Chinese style and was beautiful but its not a patch on the Chinese gardens in Sydney. We then walked up to Gastown to see the steam clock. It was built in 1977 to act as a tourist attraction to renovate Gastown by Canadian horologist Raymond Saunders.

We then had a nice lunch at the Steamworks pub which has its own brewery and I had a 'sleeve' of the Empress Pale Ale which was great. With full bellies we walked to Canada Place which has amazing views from Stanley Park to North Vancouver and the mountains. Onward to Coal Harbour where we watched loads of seaplanes taking off and landing. The weather has been sunshine mixed with a cold air from the sea so it was a perfect day for walking. We then carried on to Stanley Park and went to the Vancouver Aquarium.

We watched the Belugas Whale show and then looked around the rest of the park. The aquarium is quite dated and the displays quite sad. I really didn't enjoy the experience and felt quite guilty paying to see the animals so far out of their natural habitat. We were both then feeling shattered so headed back to the hotel for the evening.
