Turtle Freedom

We were honored today to be visiting our friends at Playa Blanca when their neighbors released the last ever batch of turtles to the ocean. They had been helping cultivate turtles for a number of years (digging the eggs up on the beach and keeping the hatchlings safe in a plastic kiddy pool until release), but the owner of the home where they caretake has told them no more. Tonight was the final batch from the kiddy pool, 92 little turtles that we were able to release to the sea. These three are trailing behind the main bunch, but they too were eventually swallowed up by an incoming wave and are now on their way to adulthood - at least we all hope so.
