Forty Shades of Green
Yesterday, wandering ever farther afield in search of blip fodder I chanced upon an area of land in a state that could even in the kindest terms be referred to as run down. Situated to the north of Figueres close to the vineyards of Capmanys it probably was itself once planted with vines and has certainly been cultivated at some time in the past, though today it is covered with stubby shrub oaks and what in Scotland we would call whin.
Then my mind turned to the possibilities, Slipper Farmers have been in the news recently. This land looked ideal, now all I need to do is to find out who, what, where, when, why and how and the fortune is made.
If this works the next thing will be to acquire an intervention price for the glut of courgettes that I always produce in July and offer the guest cottage as an EU store for tomato storage. That'll keep the unwanted summer visitors at bay if they have to share with a hundred kilos or so of gently suppurating Serinya Reds.
Hmmm wonder what the smallest acreage is to qualify as a barley baron?
