Drookit
Well I think these poor ponies look and felt exactly as I did this morning. Drookit! They simply stood in the mud, backs to the wind, accepting all that was being thrown at them.
A few weeks ago I managed to get in a Sale some excellent new, warm, 100% waterproof gear in readiness for the winter months. Well today I was wearing it all. As I arrived for the walk I met a man and his dog who were just finishing theirs and he said wryly "I think you'll need a snorkel". He was so right and I think if I could have also been harnessed to one of those wind turbines, I could have generated quite a bit of electricity too as the wind was so strong.
Obviously the chance of blips was minimal but I did try and take one shot of the very muddy path, but as I was squatting down for a low shot (far too wet to kneel down, so I'm obviously not a seasoned blipper yet) Cara came bounding over to see what on earth I was doing and when I checked my shot there was her nose instead of the mud!
Today made me really look forward to my forthcoming holiday. I leave on Saturday, to overnight with my daughter in Reading, and then make for Southampton where I am boarding a Garden Themed Cruise heading for the Canary Isles for two weeks. Can't wait!!!
I'm now off to take my cup of tea into the cosy greenhouse to plant up the 48 Petunia plugs which arrived yesterday.
