black sheep Herdwick lambs.

It's always good to see the first Herdwick lambs and, as Herdwicks tend to lamb late, it can be a long wait. As you probably know they are born black, fade to brown with white faces as one-year olds. Finally they end a greyish white. If you look at the lamb on the right at the back of this shot you will see the white tips to the ears which many of the lambs have.
