House for Art Lovers

Artist and musician Evelyn Buchanan tries out the baby grand white piano in the House for Art Lovers, Glasgow.
I had never visited this amazing building before and was knocked out by it. Designed by Rennie Macintosh in reponse to an architect competition it was never built until Glasgow City Council dccided in 1996 to build it.

Today it is a centre for art lovers, workhops, conference and even weddings. Evelyn and I were among the hundred people attending a conference on Public art - artists' strategies for working in public - llearning from practice.

I was delighted to see so many familiar faces from Glasgow School of Art there, not surprising since it as organised by the Sculpture and Environmental Department as part of Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art.
