Edington Gates

This is the main entrance to Glasgow Necropolis just outside the Cathedral.

The gate was recently restored following an anonymous donation of £14,000. It then received a nomination for a Civic Trust award which is based on architecture, heritage and good design.

The oldest gates in Glasgow, they were made by Thomas Edington and Son at their Phoenix Iron Works in 1838.
