Cove Bay

For those of you who know the Aberdeen area, you will recognise this as the village of Cove Bay.

At least it used to be a village, **** years ago, when we would go there for a day trip.

Imagine my surprise to find it is no longer a tiny fishing village with the bay, slipway for a few fishing boats and a handfull of fisherman's cottages, but now a sprawling development - almost a town in its own right.

How things change.

As you can see from the photo, it was a grey day here, as well as cold, wet and very windy. Despite that, I was taken by the colours of the boats and the lobster pots and ropes.

Good for a bracing stroll to blow the cobwebs away.

Incidentally, this was also the sight for a good many shipwrecks where ships had foundered on the rocks having missed the harbour entrance at Aberdeen. There used to be the remains of an old trawler just off these rocks.
