Little lost duckling

Up, and at lunchtime did feed the ducks.

Noticed this one little lost duckling in the Lam Brook valiantly swimming towards the weir. Too timid to allow itself to be approached, it seemed not even to understand the bread I tossed to it was food.

It later managed to find this perch hidden in the overhanging vegetative growth. When the drake and his consort entered the water it tweeted plaintively to them but they ignored it. Perhaps it is no genetic relation to them.
