Reminder...

I almost imploded with pride and emotion today as I watched the whole of the wee school perform their WWII drama along with songs and dances. It was magical and captivating and there was hardly a dry eye at the end.

They had interviewed several old worthies who were war children and one who was an evacuee. Their voices came over so eerily on the recorder and along with Neville Chamberlain, they added authenticity and reality to the whole show.

One thing is for sure - these children will NEVER forget.

I went from that show to a Creative Showcase where my brain went in to overdrive for ideas for Flodden 2013 - 500 years and on our doorstep... I'm thinking mosaic, poetry and music = songs written by the pupils, make a CD and perhaps a memorable tableau with the help of the art groups in the communities. That'll do for starters!!
