There were a few photogs on the High Street at lunchtime today, outside the High Courts. I don't envy that aspect of photo journalism in any way, and didn't stop to ask who they were waiting to photograph. I only indirectly found out when I overheard another journalist briefing her colleague (loudly) through her phone.
Instead, I headed for this girl playing lovely harp music outside St Giles Cathedral. Her work sounded a bit celtic to me, but I was paying more attention to getting a picture of her in action. After all that effort, I just went with this posed shot that I asked for at the end. I liked the way she draped her hand over her harp: woolly gloves and all.
