Turning Point

Early Morning Bonfire

I opened my eyes at 6 o'clock this morning and was delighted to see sunshine. It was a perfect opportunity to burn some garden debris that couldn't be composted. I was fanning flames when Lucie urged me to photograph the shafts of sunlight, somewhat obscured by smoke, beaming through the overhanging trees.

I've been rather neglecting my appearance lately. A couple of well preserved friends invited me to join them for lunch, so I thought I'd make a special effort to look groomed. Last time we met I wore gardening clothes, as that is where I was when I received a telephone call to ask if I was on my way. At least I didn't forget today.

Lachlan has given Lucie an early birthday present of a Babyliss Big Hair. She did a bit of research before deciding to choose this piece of kit - it has apparently changed the lives of those with less than lustrous locks. I can report that it certainly did the trick for me - I felt like Cheryl Cole on a good day when I made my entrance into 'Jessie's Kitchen'!
