Luna 27th April 2012
This shot is important to me as I've really changed how I'll do these in future. This was taken with the D7000 tethered to my MacBook Pro using a 5m usb cable and the free tether software Sofortbild (mac only I think). I was able to stick the laptop in the shed and setup the camera and tripod outside pointed at the moon. From the laptop I can control all aspects of the camera including using live view with zoom to get the focus bang on. I really can't explain just how much difference this makes to taking the shots not having to touch the camera to change a setting.
Ordered by Skywatcher Explorer 200p telescope on an EQ5 mount today and motor drives today, will have it Monday with any luck and this method will be great with the scope especially. Very pleased indeed.
