Flax

Went on a late afternoon duckling hunt today but all I found were the usual sky rats who were scavenging virtually all of the stale bread I'd taken with me.

This is some New Zealand flax which is abundantly present around the duck pond! As a plant, it looks pretty raggedy from a distance but it is actually quite a beautiful leaf when the sun is shining on it casting shadows and illuminating the fine red edges to the leaves.
