Consuming Soproni in Sopron

I've been enjoying Soproni for 2.5 years and I finally got to drink some in its home city.

Am now home so writing up properly.

Every year the school subsidises a holiday for the staff and this year we had a weekend in Austria. After school we got on the bus and started our 6 hour journey to Sopron. The bus journey was long but fun, trips with the teachers at school always mean a lot of drinking!

After dinner we went out for some drinks and a look around the city. It was my first time there and it seems lovely although it was dark. We went to a pub and had some beer. Then we went to another pub, a western style pub. The door handles were guns and the bar stools saddles. It was a really nice place with a good selection of single malts. I had a Bruichladdich Peat which is from Islay, the island next to where I grew up. It was delicious, I do love a good single malt. After a few more drinks we headed back to the hotel where I fell asleep very quickly.
