Hero Rush

Father-son team takes 2nd place at today's 'Hero Rush', a 7k run full of obstacles and challenges designed by firefighters.

This is the last obstacle before the finish line and this father and son were neck to neck and sprinting all the way -- the dad wasn't about to be outdone by the young'n. I was impressed by the participants -- old, young, fit, not-so-fit, men, women: they showed good humor even though it was cold and many obstacles involved plunging into ice cold water.

btw, in a somewhat ironic turn of event, some of the fire engines on premises had to leave as two houses caught on fire just down the road...
