Red, white and blue
I was leading worship in this Edinburgh church this morning. It is distinctive due to its red ceiling, white walls and blue pews.
Built in the year in which Queen Elizabeth took the throne, it shares anniversaries with her jubilees. The font was presented by Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, and the apse furniture came from the Empire Exhibition of 1938.
We learnt of shepherds this morning, including singing a Christmas carol, but also Psalm 23, and reading from Ezekiel on bad shepherds. And Susanna's cuddly sheep came too.
