River over the bridge

I walked down to the river this afternoon to see what effect all the rain had made on the drought.

This was the flood water over the bridge, sadly there was none under the bridge, where the river should be, it seemed so strange.

At this point it is really only a stream fed by springs in the chalk aquifer, so I assume the torrential rain over the past few days has not yet filtered through to replenished the springs.
