Lambing Live

We pulled over at the cow shed at Kilnmaichle to have a look at the new born lambs. Neil invited us in to watch a birth. A ewe with triplets.

How thrilling. The kids were a little bit wary. They saw all the action at the business end. Fin said " there's no way I'm going to be a farmer"!

Here they had moved out of the pen to look at the lamb at the ewe's head. The third lamb was a bit tricky. Neil is tickling it's nostril with a straw to cause a cough reflex. Neil placed it at the ewe's head with the other.

The first lamb was breach and unfortunately did not survive.
