Busy feet
This morning, bright & early in the raging gale force winds & driving rain, Alexander went out to do his Manchester Marathon.
I really felt for him since it had been building up to a stormy day all Saturday & continued that way throughout the night. I'm not so sure he really wanted to do it when it came to bring as bad as it was..
He was out the majority of the day, in that time I breakfasted & dressed 4 children. Washed dishes. Put some clothes in washing machine. Orchestrated the artwork for a "well done, you did it!" banner & celebratory signs, oversaw the craft-clear-up, baked a cake, washed dishes, lunched the afore-mentioned children, washed dishes. Played hostess to Caroline, Tony, Joseph & Niamh who came to visit, fed them with my home-made soup, then gave a house tour.
Spoke to an exhausted home-bound Running Bear, organised the welcoming committee, ran a hot bath & prepared him some food.
He managed to complete the 26 miles in about 4 hours 15 minutes & was shaking uncontrollably with the cold when he got back.
I'm so proud of him, it's such an achievement to do-nevermind in such horrific conditions.
Alexander & the girls were waved off to Hull about 4pm & I caught up with Caroline for a little bit over a cup of tea.
After they left, I de-childed the house, tidied their rooms up, then Ferguson & I had our tea (after I'd washed dishes again!).
We then took the washing out the machine, I tried on my fab new shoes that Caroline had brought for me (that I'd got delivered to her New York hotel room because I couldn't get UK delivery!)
F & I then snuggled on the sofa for half an hour before going to get ready for bed.
Alexander came in at about 9:30, after his long drive back & we caught up for a little while & now it's bed-time!
We've both had very busy, tiring days but it very different ways!
