Tessa & Coco
They both have such beautiful black shiny hair. I'm jealous.
Its different raising a daughter. I've raised two wonderful sons but when it came to certain areas I handed it over to their dad. With Tessa, even though she's Daddy's princess, I had the opportunity to share the girlie stuff and have the birds and the bees talk with her. I did right by her.....she is A-ma-zing! I'm not saying that just because she's my daughter. She is truly a remarkable lovely person with a beautiful soul and a heart of gold. If I wasn't her mother I would want to be her friend. We have a wonderful special relationship, extremely open and very playful. She's been my rock at times and I'm always asking for her opinion and that's because she's a smart cookie.
When I use to look at my mother I didn't see a woman, I only saw a mother and I think (for me) because of that I didn't go to her with my problems or open up. When I had Tessa I made a conscious decision early on that I was going to share certain things with her so she would see that I am a woman aside from being a mother with my own dreams and needs and that they were important. I know she watches me from afar so I'm careful in how I behave and handle myself but I also show her my imperfections. It has paid off because she comes to me and she knows my doors are always open to any discussion, nothing is out of the question.
There are a handful of things in my life that I take credit for. Tessa is one of them and I am very proud of our relationship. As much as I have given her, she has given me a new perspective because I like looking at things thru her eyes.
She's thinking about giving Blip a try. I told her "just try it and you never know you might fall in love with it or hate it but its definitely another form of expressing yourself".
