Why did I come in here?

Bridge Head

Much delight this weekend apart from the Jedi training session yesterday.

On Friday the elder Booty Grandson, aka Junior Jedi, "I am Itchy" was taken to meet his new teacher and classroom assistant then to be shown the school. He will only just be past his fourth birthday when he starts in September. Having now seen where he is going he is absolutely thrilled and brimming with anticipation. While there his mum took the chance to buy most of his school kit. All the children wear the same one size fits all shiny red shorts for all PE and sports. Sprog is a big lad, I fear for the small ones, as half of Man Utd could at a push fit in these shorts, he is so proud of them and now wears them at all times if allowed. He is so lucky as the intake class is limited to 15, a great opportunity to start his education in a small concentrated group; now we know his younger brother, "Gnasher," will also be accepted there.

This is his school badge. The village of Penponds translates in Cornish to "Bridge Head." There is an ancient Roman footbridge, as shown in the attached link with a screen grab from Google Earth. This leads to Barripper, which means Beautiful Place and is unusually named from Norman French.
