Pine cone in the making
Sunday
It was Bell Sunday at church this morning, so both bell choirs were playing, but the choir had the week off - in fact the choir has two weeks off, as next Sunday is Youth Sunday, when the Youth plan and lead the whole service. Our bell pieces didnt go so great on the whole, with the exception of "You raise me up", an arrangement for bells and cello, which is a gorgeous piece, and fortunately went well at both services. So we're finished with bells now until after the summer - rather earlier than usual, I'm not sure why we're finishing so early. We were rewarded for our efforts by a lovely reception afterwards - actually the reception wasn't in our honor, it was to honor the Sunday School teachers, but it was for the whole church, sow we were glad to partake! In the afternoon we went out walking at Rowe Woods, and after a cool gloomy morning, the weather brightened a little and warmed up - in fact, I was amazed to see from our local weather channel we are going to be around 80F tomorrow and much of the week! We took a trail we hadn't done in quite a while, and we'd forgotten how lovely it was - part of it goes across the road from most of the Nature Center, and I think many people may not be aware of it - it was certainly very quiet today. For my blip I chose this pine cone in the making, but you can find more pictures from our walk here.
