Changeable Weather
The day started off like many others, wet.
Not to be put off we decided to head out for a bit of shopping (plus we wanted to stop off at the tourist office in Le Dorat for a cuddly cow -an emergency blip opportunity just in case).
We got some shopping in, but the tourist office was closed for lunch (12 - 2pm -the French know how to lunch properly) so we returned to the Gite. Whilst we were eating, the skies brightened and the sun came out, so, having eaten, we jumped back in the car.
Turns out that the blue skies were not to be long lived. It got darker and darker as we approached Le Dorat, and it was already threatening rain as we parked.
The lady in the tourist office was very helpful, but as we left, the weather decided enough was enough. We (literally) dived into the car as it let go, thunder, lightning, and then hail. Lots of hail, like a giant emptying a bag of frozen albino peas over everything. Then it hailed some more !
We stopped of at Magnac Laval on the way back to the Gite (to grab a quick snap of the Church of St Maximin - 12th century) -the picture above is what's left of the hail, about 20 minutes after the downpour.
Oh, and the sun is back out again !
C'est la vie !
