Remember these
I got a reminder today on how much I have embraced the digital age and non-physical media lol
I'd been asked to compile a CD for the upcoming Speyside Kiltwalk, just a compilation of rousing and motivating Scottish music or Scottish bands to give the walkers a boost before the start.
I made a playlist up in iTunes and then hit my first problem, couldn't find any CD-R's to burn the playlist onto. Hunted everywhere and found 3 in the back of a drawer, must be 10 years old at least. Anyway, so I went to burn the disk and found my iMac disk drive is not working, it's been so long since I used it I had no idea. Luckily I have a portable CD-ROM burning drive for my Macbook Air so it came to the rescue.
Next issue was where to test the CD to make sure it was working okay, I could have used the portable drive or my PS3 but I wanted to make sure it played alright on a bog standard CD player. Guess what? We don't have one in the house, plenty iPods, iPhones, iPads and speakers for same but no CD player. Ended up sitting in the car listening to it on the car CD player.
I just found it funny that a few years ago CD's where everywhere as well as CD players, now I could barely complete my project and it just amazes me how times change and I didn't even notice.
Just hope they like my compilation lol
