St Helen's Church
At last! Some sun :)
Finished work at around 1.30 so cycled into town and had a wander along St Helen's wharf. This is a classic Abingdon postcard shot. I've never managed it before as cars, people or building work always seem to be in the way.
The beautiful St Helen's church spire dominates the Abingdon skyline and has done so since the 13th century. The church was extended in 15th century and is the second widest church in England (five aisles). The slipway on the right goes down from the wharf into the Thames.
