The Iron Man
This morning started with a cultural visit to Tokyo Opera City. We went to see a Beat Takeshi Kitano exhibition at the art gallery there.
Takeshi is a modern artist who's attitude is 'Don't look for deep meanings in my works, just enjoy and I hope it makes you smile'. It certainly did, a mixture of canvas art and installations including a food stall in the courtyard selling Buddah Waffles :-)
The Opera City complex itself is an amazing building comprising concert hall, art gallery, fifty odd stories of offices, shops and cafe/restaurants; it also boasts its own railway station. In the courtyard is also a giant metal man, his jaw is hinged and he stands there with his mouth opening and closing, singing!
Lunch was at Subway on basement level 1 (which also had the Italian restaurant and the English pub selling Guinness at 900 yen per pint - about £7).
For tea we went to the local Indian for an excellent curry (Bhindi Masala).
