Serres Royales

Today has been a bank holiday in Belgium and the sun was shining!

We went to visit the Serres Royals (greenhouses) at the Royal Palace in Laeken, Brussels. The Royal family open their greenhouses and gardens to the public for two weeks every year.

The complex was commissioned by King Leopold II and built between 1874 and 1895, cover an area of 2.5 hectares and are an amazing sight.

It was difficult to choose my blip today, as I took a lot of beautiful flower displays as well as the actual buildings, but I particularly like this which is one of the biggest greenhouses, and in particular the Crown on the top, with the lovely blue skies behind.
