A fab day in England's second city - and the train ticket was free! YAY!!!

I had coffee with Mandy, a friend from my schooldays (many, MANY years ago!) and her husband, Mev. Mandy and I left school in 1986...

Then I had lunch with Grace - a more recent friend, we met in Brazil in 2009. I had a yummy burger topped with bacon and Brie (what a combo!) and proper chips.

Grace has promised to come to Canada to see me, and as she has been taking ice skating lessons, I am hoping that she comes in the winter, to skate on the canal. Most of my family and friends have said that they are happy to visit in the summer, but they are a bit too scared about minus temps in winter...
