RIP LHP

Got some sad news today. Our old friend Lawrence passed away this morning. It was only a few weeks ago that a crowd of us gathered to celebrate his 80th birthday.

Lawrence will be remembered most for his lifetime's involvement with Scouting, and that is how I first met him when I joined the 17th Harrow as a Cub back in the 1960s. He was there right through my time as a Scout, a Venture Scout and subsequently as a Scout Leader. I actually took over from him as Group Scout Leader in 1991, but even after I 'retired' in 2002 Lawrence kept going and remained actively involved.

But we shouldn't forget that Lawrence was also a great friend to so many people in so many walks of life, and he will be greatly missed. Love and condolences to Maureen, and to his sons Lance, Adrian and Anton, and their families.

So today's blip is dedicated to Lawrence, and I've cheated a bit by taking a photo of a photo. This was Lawrence doing what he loved best - at Scout Camp - in 1982.
