Party for may - or labour - day
Partyday for may the first is a real carneval day here in Finland. For me it's normally the first day to dine out at the terrace - and make a short meeting with close relatives.
This year we had also a long nice walk in the city centre too as the weather was surprisingly nice. There was cool wind from north, but still sunny and clear. At our home terrace it was quite warm actually, and so we enjoyed various grills and different kind of salads - and had a small cakes for aftermeal, as you can see... For drink we had 'sima' ( it is almost national finnish 'may the first'- drink). It can be served also with alcohol, but we had it without - and drank only pure sima!
Hyvää vappua!
Have a nice labourday!
(if you want the recipie for Sima, I may be able to translate it. You need some brown sugar, lemons, water and raisins. And a warm place for a storage it for a couple of days)
